Swedish post-rock band Immanu El will perform at B10 Live and promote their latest album “Hibernation.”
Immanu El from Gothenburg started out as a musical experiment in 2004 by 16-year-old Claes Strangberg, who was soon joined by his twin brother Per and friends David Lillberg, Jonatan Josefsson and Robin Ausberg. The music has its roots in the early post-rock scene and the ambition of the band has always been to create something captivating and beautiful, experimenting with other styles and elements with ambitious vocal arrangements.
After touring with other bands, they got a chance in 2005 to play a set on the Rookie Stage at the Hultsfred Festival, an opportunity for unsigned bands to perform at a major event.
They released their first demo EP titled “Killerwhale” in 2005, before being signed to Swedish independent record label And the Sound Records and Japanese label Thomason Sounds in 2007.
The first full-length album “They’ll Come, They Come” was released in August 2007. The second album “Moen” was released in 2009 after several tours in Europe during 2008. The band has gained a growing reputation as one of the most promising bands from Scandinavia and has performed over 300 shows in 30 countries in Europe, Asia and North America since the release of their debut album.
After four years living on the west coast of Sweden, their relationship with the sea has left a clear imprint upon their album, “In Passage,” which was released in 2011.
